Ham & Pea Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Kg Harvest Ham Hock
  • 2 cups Dried Yellow Split Peas rinsed
  • 1 Onion chopped fine
  • 2 Celery stalks chopped fine
  • 2 Carrots chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper to taste
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 6 cups Reduced-sodium chicken broth

Instructions
 

  • Combine ham hock, split peas, onion, celery, carrots, salt, pepper, and bay leaves in slow cooker.
  • Pour in broth and stir to combine.
  • Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  • Remove ham hock and shred meat using two forks. Discard skin, bone, and fat and bay leaves. Return shredded ham to the soup.
  • Serve with crusty baguette and a green salad.
