Reduced-sodium chicken broth
Instructions
Combine ham hock, split peas, onion, celery, carrots, salt, pepper, and bay leaves in slow cooker.
Pour in broth and stir to combine.
Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
Remove ham hock and shred meat using two forks. Discard skin, bone, and fat and bay leaves. Return shredded ham to the soup.
Serve with crusty baguette and a green salad.
